Ryerson University Online Courses & Programs

Ryerson University — Canada's leader in innovative, career-focused education — delivers online learning through The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, which provides relevant, quality educational programming geared to adult learners and taught by industry professionals.

The Chang School offers degree-credit courses that can be used toward meeting graduation requirements of many university undergraduate programs, including those at Ryerson. Always check the Transfer Credit and Letter of Permission policies at your home institution for transfer credit eligibility. Ryerson University students should consult: Transfer Credits and Curriculum Advising.

Best of all, enrollment for Ryerson’s online courses is offered on an open admission basis (subject to applicable prerequisite requirements and space availability).

In addition to individual degree-credit courses, you may choose to complete a certificate or degree offered entirely at a distance. In addition, many blended programs can be partially completed through online studies:

  • 1,500 courses, seminars, and workshops
  • 82 certificate programs
  • 22 certificates that can be completed entirely at a distance
  • Courses toward 13 part-time degree programs
  • Courses toward accreditation by 9 professional institutes and associations

Ryerson students may take advantage of the opportunity to complete courses via eCampus Ontario. Please note the following requirements should you wish to take a course at another institution and have it count for credit toward your Ryerson degree program graduation requirements.

Letter of Permission

A Letter of Permission (LOP) grants Ryerson students permission to enrol in a course at another accredited post-secondary institution and confirms credit will be applied toward their Ryerson program. Credits will not be granted for courses taken at another institution if an approved Letter of Permission has not been issued prior to course enrolment.  Students must meet eligibility and satisfy all other requirements.
