Waterloo students who wish to take a course at another university for credit in their Waterloo program must complete a Letter of permission application PDF form, be in "satisfactory standing," and obtain the approval of their academic advisor.

Students from other universities intending to study at the University of Waterloo on a Letter of Permission must initiate the process through their home university's Registrar's Office. The incoming Letter of Permission application must be submitted to the University of Waterloo no later than two months prior to the desired term of study. Class enrolment is always subject to space availability in the course(s) requested.
